Merging PDFs is useful any time you need to combine separate documents into a single file for sharing, archiving, or printing. Common uses include combining a cover letter with a CV, assembling multi-chapter documents from individual exports, or joining scanned pages that came out as separate files.

Frequently asked questions
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
Up to 20 files at a time. For larger batches, merge in groups and then merge the resulting files together.
Is there a file size limit?
No hard limit. Practical limits depend on your device's available memory. Modern devices comfortably handle files totalling hundreds of megabytes.
Will bookmarks and links be preserved?
Bookmarks (table of contents entries) from individual files are not carried over into the merged file. Hyperlinks within the document body are preserved.
Are my files private?
Yes. All processing happens inside your browser tab using the pdf-lib library. Your files are never uploaded to any server and never leave your device. Close the tab and everything is gone from memory.
Can I reorder individual pages after merging?
You can reorder files before merging by dragging their thumbnails. To rearrange individual pages within the merged output, run the result through our Reorder Pages tool.
